I saw no beaches along the harbor of Old Havana or along
the coastline of the rest of the city. On the opposite sides of
the walls of the Malecon the shoreline was rocky with tidepools
and small inlets. Depending on the wind and waves, the shore
could go from a dangerous area of crashing waves and huge sprays
of misty salt water (LOOK OUT!!) to a pleasant recreational
swimming resort for the local youth (SEE ABOVE PHOTO). When
conditions were placid this area attracted hundreds of young Habaneros.
Were I twenty years younger I might have been there myself.
It looked fun!!
